Credit margin
The contractual spread added to a floating benchmark to determine interest, subject to the loan's other rate provisions.
Why the distinction matters
A disclosed SOFR margin excludes SOFR itself, original issue discount, arrangement fees and hedge costs. Compare it only with observations on a consistent basis.
