Glossary / finance terms

Interest during construction (IDC)

Interest accruing while a project is being developed, whether paid currently, capitalised or funded from a reserve.

Why the distinction matters

Test delays against the funded interest budget, draw availability and cost-overrun support. Capitalising interest increases the debt balance rather than eliminating the cost.

Read the structure

Funding a build from land and power milestones to a financeable operating asset.
