What it does
The rule in brief
Article 12 of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EU) 2023/1791 and Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/1364 require operators of data centres with IT power demand of at least 500 kW to report energy and sustainability indicators to a European database each year. On 21 September 2026 the Commission adopted a second delegated act setting a common rating scheme, with first labels expected in 2027, and opened a consultation on minimum performance standards for data centres, with a proposal planned for the second quarter of 2027.
